These 10 Easter Quiet Time Songs are a great way to prepare your heart for worshipping Christ on the cross. A perfect addition to your quiet time with God.
It had been a bad few days. Emotionally spent I climbed into the shower to try and relax.
As the water warmed up, the tears began to flow. My heart ached so bad that the pain finally made it’s way out through my sobs on the shower floor.
Struggling to catch my breath I began to sing a song that comforted me ever since childhood:
Jesus loves me this I know
For the Bible tells me so
Little ones to Him belong
They are weak but He is strong
Yes, Jesus love me
The Bible tells me so.
I sang and I cried for a few long minutes until I finally felt calm enough to finish my shower and get on with my day. During hard times worship songs often bring me comfort and help me feel closer to God.
“Jesus Loves Me” is a song that my mom sang to me when I was really small. In fact, it’s the first song that she’s sung to each of my boys when they were babies.
Growing up I learned a lot about God and the Bible through song. I learned all about God’s love with songs like “Jesus Loves the Little Children” and “He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands”. I memorized books of the Bible and tribes of Israel.
And to this day my favorite version of “The Little Light of Mine” is sung by a big blue Hymnal.
There’s so much you can learn through worship music. The best ones point you to the heart and character of God. They let you understand how much He loves you and how He wants to work in your life.
Easter is just a few weeks away and I have been listening to worship music all about the gift of the cross. I had so much fun sharing some of my favorite worship songs for your quiet time that I had to make a new list just for Easter.
